New talents join the Royal Swedish Ballet

Eleven young dancers join the Royal Swedish Ballet company this season. We are thrilled to see them on stage! On October 27, this season's grand premiere of Le Corsaire will take place.

Alice Hidalgo – France
Alice studied at International Student Royal Swedish Ballet School, Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et Danse de Paris, Conservatory of Boulogne and Paris Opera Ballet School. Awards: 2015 Gold Medal Nijinski Competition, Theatre de Deauville. 2022 Prix the Lausanne. Awarded scholarship at Concours Noureev 2022.

Amaury Zanete – Mexico
Amaury studied at Balletschule Theatre Basel, Switzerland, Ballet de Jalisco, Academia Doris Topete and Centro Relevé, Guadalajara, Mexico. Awards: Prix de Lausanne finalist 2023.

Darrion Sellman – USA
Darrion studied at Academie Princesse Grace, Monaco and Los Angeles Ballet Academy. Previous employments: Royal Ballet, London (Prix de Lausanne dancer). Awards: Prix de Lausanne Gold Medal 2022, 2019 Youth Grand Prix, New York, USA, Finals YAGP, 2019 Gold Medal, Toronto, Canada, Genée International Ballet Competition, 2019 Grand Prize Winner, California, USA, Music Center Spotlight, 2019 Youth Grand Prix, California, USA, Regional YAGP, 2019 Gold Medal for Classical Variation, California, USA, California Dance Classic.

Davide De Ponte – Italien
Davide studied at Balettschule Theater Basel, Switzerland and Dancer Art Studio and Teatro San Carlo, Italy. Awards: Finalist in Prix de Lausanne 2023.

Elsa Calissendorff – Sweden
Elsa studied at the Alhanko Academy of Ballet and the Royal Swedish Ballet School. Previous employments: Royal Swedish Ballet (intern).

Jade Longley – Great Britain
Jade studied at English National Ballet School, The Royal Ballet School, White Lodge. Previous employments: English National Ballet 2022-2023, Lithuanian National Ballet 2018-2022 (soloist). Awards: "Hope of the Year" Award 2020, "Elizabeth Wigoder Award" for Exceptional Artistry 2015.

Léon Thomas Rambaud – France
Léon studied at École de Danse de l’Opéra National de Paris.

Liepa Mikaliunaite – Lithuania
Liepa studied at Ellison Professional Ballet School, New York USA, ABT JKO School and Lithuanian School of Music and Theater. Awards: Youth America Gran Prix New York Semi Finals, 2022 March - 1st Place Large Ensembles.

Lincoln Sharp – Australia
Lincoln studied at John Cranko Schule, Stuttgart and Tanya Pearson Academy, Sydney. Previous employments: Stuttgart Ballet (intern). Awards: 2020 YAGP finalist, 2020 Prix de Lausanne.

Samira Bethke – Sweden and USA
Samira studied at the Oslo Academy of Fine Arts and at the Royal Swedish Ballet School. Previous employments: Nasjonalballetten UNG 2021-2023, participated in A Body for Sale, SVT Drama Documentary, and Billy Elliot at Stockholms Stadsteater. Awards: 2021 Prix de Lausanne, 2019 Nordic Baltic Ballet Competition, 1st place, 2019 Jeune Ballet Mediterranean, Grasse 1st place.

Zane Smith-Taylor – Australia
Zane studied at Academie Princesse Grace, Monaco; Perth Classical and Contemporary Coaching, Perth Australia. Awards: 2021 1st place Royal Academy of Dance, Linley Wilson Award 2020 1st place, Classical YAGP Asia-Pacific competition.
